Stuart B. Kincaid, M.D., F.A.C.S.

“The side effect of plastic surgery, as with any invasive treatment, is often a scar. This is why Stuart B. Kincaid, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon in San Diego, California, has incorporated Scarguard MD and Solarguard MD into his patients’ post-surgical regimens. Dr. Kincaid has been helping patients realize their aesthetic dreams for 25 years and understands that after undergoing a plastic surgery procedure, the last thing anyone wants is an unsightly scar.” Read full article here.

While there’s nothing wrong with having a scar or bruise, chances are if you could get rid of them, you would. I know I tried to in the past and bought that heavily marketed scar gel that’s really just onion juice (look at the ingredients) which ended up being a pure waste of my money. #Fail. I also won’t tell you about the painful attempts to “comb out” my bruises, because then you might look at me differently. All [...]

I wish I had known about Scarguard last year! I had a minor surgery and had stitches to close up the wound. I took care of the wound as my doctor instructed. When the doctor removed the stitches, he said it was healing nicely. And it was. It looked like the scar would be barely noticeable. Then something happened. Over the next week, the scar started getting itchy and had a pimple develop over top of it. It started [...]

“I recommend a product called ScarGuard. This product combines all of the treatments that I described above into one liquid. It is a clear liquid that forms a fine flexible film within a few seconds after painting it onto the scar. This film helps to protect the scar from irritation while delivering silicone cortisone and vitamin E throughout the day. I have my patients start using ScarGuard right after the steri-strips or bandages come off. Treatment is continued twice [...]

“Products like ScarEase, Scarguard, and Mederma do work to reduce scarring. Start applying daily as soon as your wound has healed, and avoid sunlight or use a sunscreen with zinc oxide for at least six months after surgery.”—Andrew Ordon, MD Read full article here.

“After about 5 days of applying it she came into work one day and told me to take a look at her hand. I was a little worried thinking maybe she reacted or the product was no good, but after getting a little closer her smile said it all. Her scar was so much lighter then when she started and I found it not as raised. She admitted that she had only been applying it once a day but [...]

“Use ScarGuard MD. This over-the-counter product was originally available by prescriptions only. A plastic surgeon developed this cream to help with raised and overgrown scars that have already healed. Many dermatologists and plastic surgeons praise ScarGuard. It is made of silicone, cortisone and vitamin E and places a protective layer over the wound. Apply ScarGuard twice a day for a few months.” Read full article here.

"Silicone treatments have been shown to reduce the itching and pain associated with scars, and in some cases even reduce their size. Silicone sheets are a popular treatment for raised acne scars. It is thought that the pressure and moisture (and possibly static electricity) help to reduce the size and appearance of scars. But silicone treatments come in gel form as well. The most popular of these is ScarGuard MD, which consists of silicone, hydrocortisone, and vitamin E. There [...]

Just About Skin – Scarlight Review

I’m very pleased with the results of the Scarlight treatment on my dark scar. Like with most fading treatments, I did not harbor high expectations going in, but Scarlight has truly exceeded mine. I’ll continue using this for a little while longer on the original scar. And then the neighboring scar will get all the attention!

Just About Skin – Scarguard Review

Overall, I am very happy with the results of the ScarGuard gel treatment. I am continuing to use this gel twice daily, massaging the scar, and keeping the affected areas richly moisturized at all times.
